New Year’s Resolutions can be a tricky subject - but if you care about saving money and reducing your carbon footprint, the first place to look is your transport. Here are our top tips for how to revamp the way you move in 2023:

  1. Get on your bike. If you want to make your commute more interesting, and less expensive, consider taking a bike. Not only will you save money on gas and avoid public transport price hikes, but you’ll also burn some of those festive calories in the process. Don’t forget to be seen and be safe… and wear a helmet.

  2. Take the Subway or the Bus. Mass transit is one of the keys to lowering transport emissions and investing in the future. And who doesn’t love listening to a podcast or some music while someone else takes care of the journey?

  3. Go Electric. Technology has moved at an incredible pace, personal EVs are now affordable and fun and electric cars are no longer only available to the ultra rich. By the end of 2025, 1 in 4 of us now own an EV of some size or shape - that’s up 65% from 2 years ago. Sustainably sourced Electric power is clean and green - go get some.

  4. Carpool places. Every time you ride share and take a car off the road, the planet thanks you. Hundreds of epic road movies have been written about the simple art of sharing a ride with a friend, a neighbor or someone you know and trust.

  5. And one of our favorites at Dfly HQ - take a walk. Walking is great for your health and mental wellbeing - it’s the original mode of transportation, and still one of the best. Just add friends and snacks, and conversation will take care of itself.

Making a resolution to revamp your transport can be an awesome way to start off the new year and be more responsible as well. Pick one and give it a try.
